Privacy Policy
Effective March 18, 2026
Introduction
QuickTake ("we," "our," "us") operates quicktake.club and the QuickTake Progressive Web App. We provide a multi-perspective news briefing service that delivers trending topics with three perspectives -- Mainstream, Contrarian, and Wildcard -- as audio-narrated cards you can swipe through in seconds.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. We wrote it in plain English because you deserve to actually understand it.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, Google ID, and profile avatar. That is all we get from Google -- we do not request access to your contacts, calendar, or any other Google services. One account per person.
Preferences
You can customize your experience by setting a default perspective preference, audio playback speed, timezone, and notification settings. We store these so your QuickTake experience works the way you want it to across sessions.
Category Interests
During onboarding and in your settings, you can weight topic categories (politics, tech, culture, sports, business, and others) to personalize your feed. We store these weights to tailor which topics appear first.
Device Tokens
If you enable push notifications, we store your device's push notification token and platform identifier. These are used exclusively to send you notifications through Azure Notification Hubs.
Usage Data
We track which topics you view and when you view them. This helps us understand what content resonates and improve the service. We do not track your activity outside of QuickTake.
Payment Information
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Stripe. QuickTake stores only your Stripe customer ID, your subscription tier (Free or Pro), and trial start and end dates. We never see, receive, or store your credit card number, bank account details, or any other payment credentials. Stripe handles all of that directly.
Quick Take Chat
When you use Quick Take Chat to generate a briefing on a topic of your choice, we store your search query and the generated results (topic, perspectives, and sources). This allows you to revisit your past Quick Takes.
Landing Page Analytics
Our landing page at quicktake.club uses PostHog to collect anonymous page views and engagement metrics. No personal information is collected from the landing page. These analytics help us understand how people discover QuickTake.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver personalized news briefings based on your category interests and preferences
- Generate AI-powered perspectives on trending topics
- Produce audio narrations of each perspective
- Process subscription payments through Stripe
- Send push notifications when new topic batches are available
- Improve service quality based on aggregate usage patterns
- Personalize content recommendations to surface topics you care about
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles.
Third-Party Services
QuickTake relies on a handful of third-party services to operate. Here is exactly what each one receives:
- Google -- Handles authentication only. Provides us your email, name, and avatar when you sign in. We use Google OAuth and nothing else from your Google account.
- Stripe -- Processes all payments. Stripe receives your billing information directly. We never see or handle your payment details.
- Anthropic (Claude API) -- Powers our AI content generation, including topic grouping, perspective writing, and question answering. No personal user data is sent to Anthropic -- only news article content and topic information.
- Lemonfox.ai -- Generates text-to-speech audio narrations. Lemonfox receives only the perspective text to be narrated. No user data is sent.
- Microsoft Azure -- Hosts our infrastructure. Azure Blob Storage stores audio files, Azure PostgreSQL stores our database, Azure Notification Hubs delivers push notifications, and Azure Container Apps runs our application.
- Cloudflare -- We use Cloudflare as CDN provider to serve static contents for the landing page as well as the QuickTake PWA
- PostHog -- Collects anonymous analytics on our landing page only. No personally identifiable information is sent to PostHog.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server (database) and Azure Blob Storage (audio files), with our application running on Azure Kubernetes Service. All data is hosted in Azure's cloud infrastructure.
We take the following security measures:
- Authentication is handled via secure JWT tokens
- All connections use HTTPS, enforced through Azure Front Door
- API keys and secrets are stored as Kubernetes Secrets, not in application code
- Database access is restricted to our application services
Data Retention
QuickTake is designed around ephemeral content. Here is how long different types of data stick around:
- Scheduled news content -- Resets daily at your local midnight. This is by design: QuickTake gives you today's news, not yesterday's. Older topics roll off as new ones arrive.
- Quick Take Chat results -- Retained so you can revisit briefings you have generated on demand.
- Ask About This conversations -- Fully ephemeral. These streamed responses are not stored anywhere. Once you close the conversation, it is gone.
- Account data -- Your profile, preferences, and category interests are retained until you request deletion.
Your Rights
You have control over your data. Here is what you can do:
- Access your data -- You can view your account information, preferences, and category interests directly in the app.
- Update your preferences -- Change your perspective preference, playback speed, timezone, notification settings, and category interests anytime in the app.
- Request a copy of your data -- Email us and we will provide a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion -- Email us to request complete deletion of your account and all associated data. We will process deletion requests promptly.
For data access or deletion requests, email [email protected].
Children's Privacy
QuickTake is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete that information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app so you are aware of what has changed. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
Your continued use of QuickTake after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
